Remote Charging Stand (Wii)

Remote Charging Stand (Wii)
Customer Review: RUBBISH
The charger does not work in standby mode and one of the docking stations doesn’t work at all. Complete waste of hard earned cash, go to Asda

Customer Review: Complete waste of money
Only charges when switched on. So to charge the remotes you have to leave the WII turned on with the DVD drive running etc. This is a terrible waste of electricity - 0 out of 10 for environmental awareness. Plus it is wearing out your WII. When it is switched on I want to play, not recharge!

Another negative is that this uses AAA batteries which are smaller and hold much less charge than AA’s. So play time is much shorter.

Have gone back to using AA rechargeables.

Customer Review: Mario is gaming goodness
Just recieved this game and I have been playing with the kids cheering me on. The graphics are great, the game play is wonderful. Buy it you won’t be disappointed!
Customer Review: Quite simply the best ever
I don’t write many reviews but I simply must add another five-star rating to Super Mario Galaxy. This game is exceptional, truly remarkable and outstanding in every department. The graphics are funky, colourful and slick. The use of the Wii remote and Nunchuck is seamless - at no point does it feel forced, it is always natural. The level design is top quality throughout with plenty of variation and the “comet” levels provide further innovation. Only two minor issues stop this game being perfect. First, the automatic camera very occasionally positions itself in the worst possible place and can sometimes cause you to lose a life. I should qualify this by saying that the automatic camera is still one of the very, very best I’ve ever seen in a video game - it is just not perfect. The second issue is related to the camera angles but is more specific - the controls when swimming. It never quite feels to me that Mario is completely under my control when under water. This is because the camera is particularly haywire under water and left suddenly becomes right and vice versa! But these are minor, very minor, and for me this is the greatest video game ever (and that from a loyal Sonic fan of old…).

Nintendo Wii Console with Billy the Wizard
In a nutshell:
As if the idea of five games in one package didn’t sound a good enough deal on its own the Wii’s best multiplayer compendium comes free with the console.

The lowdown:
Clearly realising that they need to provide some quick and obvious reasons why the Wii Remote is such a good idea Nintendo have packed in this compilation with the console, which includes simple versions of tennis, golf, baseball, bowling and boxing. The four player tennis game is the obvious stand out as you swing the Remote exactly as you would a real tennis racket, with the game seeming to almost magically interpret your movements into the game. All the other games work in a similar way, as you hold the Remote like a golf club or ready it like a baseball bat - you can even use it to gently roll bowling bowls and add some subtle aftertouch. The graphics make be purposefully basic but these are the games to instantly prove why the Wii is going to be such a revolution.

Most exciting moment:
While even Wii Tennis can be played with very minor movements of the Wii Remote the boxing game actively encourages you to act things out properly. You hold up both the Remote and the nunchuck to simulate your two hands and then duck and weave as you switch between trying to pummel your opponent and dodging or blocking their own attacks.

Since you ask:
You can use your own customised Mii Channel character in any of the games for that personal touch. The idea was originally just a joke featuring caricatures of Nintendo’s top brass for a press conference, but it proved so popular that Nintendo ensured anyone could make their own character to play with.

The bottom line:
Five of the best games on the Wii and they all come free with the console!-HARRISON DENT

Manufacturer’s Description:

Nintendo’s Wii video game system (pronounced “we”) is designed to attract people, regardless of their age or video game experience, to sit down and play together–whether they’re in the same room or on different sides of the globe. The system’s name reflects this simple idea. It’s easily pronounced in a variety of languages, and the distinctive spelling suggests two players side by side. The two Wii features Nintendo thinks will create new levels of gaming community are built-in Wi-Fi access, supported by a new online gaming service, and Wii’s intuitive, wireless, motion-sensitive game controller.

image1

Media bay accepts both Wii and GameCube discs

As with every new console release, much of the buzz surrounds the specs. The system boasts 512 MB of internal flash memory, two USB 2.0 ports, and a slot for SD memory expansion. Wii’s technological heart — a processing chip developed with IBM and code-named “Broadway” and a graphics chipset from ATI code-named “Hollywood” — are said to deliver stunning performance. Instead of a tray, Wii uses a single, self-loading media bay that will play both 12-centimeter optical discs used for the new system, as well as Nintendo GameCube discs.
The real revolution in this system, though, is its controller, called the Wii Remote. Shaped like a TV remote, it’s been designed to be easily used by beginners and pros alike. Sensors determine the Wii Remote’s position is in 3-D space, which means that racing-game steering and a tennis swing, for example, are done through movements of your hand rather than by just your thumbs. What’s more, a tiny speaker built into the Wii Remote promises some interactive surround sound experiences. The controller also has a force feedback “Rumble” feature and an expansion port for use with accessories, such as the Nunchuck, which adds an analog thumbstick and trigger buttons. An adapter that fits over the Wii’s wee remote will be available for those who prefer the feel of a traditional controller. The Wii Remote communicates via the Bluetooth wireless standard. Up to four remotes can connect to Wii.

A classic-style controller will also be available

Wii offers superb backward compatibility — the cornerstone of Nintendo’s all-access approach. This new console will play fan-favourite games from Nintendo’s 20-year-old library. The drive is compatible with GameCube discs, and select Nintendo titles from the original NES of the 1980s all the way through the Nintendo 64 will be available through for download through the Virtual Console. As if that weren’t enough, the Virtual Console will also make available a few titles from SNES console contemporaries, Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx 16.
Several new titles have been confirmed for Wii, including Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, as well as Square Enix’s Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles.

A number of Wi-Fi-enabled titles are in development that will employ Nintendo’s newly-announced wireless gaming service, WiiConnect24. This worldwide network promises Nintendo players a comfortable, inviting environment in which they can gather and compete. The always-on network will deliver game updates and surprises, even when the Wii is powered down. And as you would expect, Wii will be able to communicate with the Nintendo DS mobile gaming system wirelessly.

The Wii console will revolutionise how people play games. But more importantly, it will entice new players into the world of video games by offering a variety of entertainment, information and communication Channels that add value to the console and make it a device that the entire family can enjoy. The Wii Channel Menu will be the first screen shown on the television, as it easily integrates itself as part of people’s everyday lives.

Disc Channel: This channel allows users to play either Wii game discs or the entire library of Nintendo GameCube discs.

Mii Channel: Fun caricatured portraits created in this channel can be used as characters across a variety of Wii software. Portraits can be stored in a user’s Wii Remote and taken to a friend’s house to play on another Wii console. Each member of the family can have his or her Wii Remote personalized with a caricature.

Photo Channel: This channel allows users to take digital pictures stored on an SD memory card and display them on their television screens. Users also can manipulate the photos in a variety of fun and creative ways, such as zooming or creating mosaics, puzzles or slide shows. They can draw, add stamps, and copy and paste. They also can change the “mood” of photos by brightening them, converting them to monochrome, inverting the colour or changing them to stark black and white. Users can even add an MP3 tune to their slide shows. It provides a fun and easy outlet for people to edit their digital pictures. Users also can send their pictures to other Wii consoles by attaching a photo to the Wii Message Board.

Forecast Channel: Users who have connected their Wii console to the Internet can access free local weather forecasts just a few seconds after turning on the Wii console. The WiiConnect24 service automatically updates local weather information. Users can view forecasts for cities around the world on a 3-D globe.

News Channel: Users can access breaking news with the touch of a button. When connected to the Internet, the WiiConnect24 service automatically updates this free channel and organizes it in a variety of topical categories. Users can see where news is happening by viewing the location of news stories on a 3-D globe.

Wii Shop Channel: This is where users go to buy Wii Points or redeem them to download classic video games to the Virtual Console. Users also can use points to download the Opera browser used in the Internet Channel.

Internet Channel: This channel dramatically changes the relationship between a user’s home, the television and the Internet. Users download the Opera browser with Wii Points. Then they can surf the Internet right from the comfort of their couch. They can do quick research while watching a television program (”What was that actor’s name again?”). Or book travel plans and shop during commercials. The service is compatible with Macromedia Flash.

Wii Message Board: Forget hand-scrawled notes tacked to the refrigerator door. Users can leave messages for other family members on a calendar-based message board. They also can use WiiConnect24 to send messages to people outside the home as well. Even better, people can trade photos and text messages with cell phone users. The service also allows for incoming messages targeted at software, such as a new map or weapon for a game. Games can constantly be updated, thereby extending their playability.

Customer Review: brilliant addictive game
ok yes the games sound is in mono, but please dont let that put you off,it is a very minor thing and as a previous reviewer said activision will be sending out remastered discs very soon.On to the game I have never owned the previous installments but I found this really easy to get into and was soon jamming along to paranoid by black sabbath like a pro!I found this game pure fun you can hammer on and pull off notes like on a real guitar as well as use the whammy bar for added effect, also at certain points in the song if your rocking you can tilt you axe upwards for multiplier points.Speaking of your axe the gibson les paul is very well made and uses the wii remote innovatively ,incorporating it into the body of the guitar.Theres songs here for all tastes from modern indie like kaiser chiefs and the killers to old skool classics like welcome to the jungle and all time greats like creams sunshine of your love and alice coopers schools out.I cant recommend this title enough a great wii title.
Customer Review: great game for all
a really great game for all, i am far from co-ordinated so thought i may struggle but you start slowly and improve as the game progresses. i have read reveiws that the sound is not great quality but i have had no problems and have not noticed any problems.
this is a really great game which has given me hours and hours of fun so far and i am still only a small way into the game.
well worth the cost and a game you can pick up at any time.

Customer Review: Good fun, well worth the money
Before buying I struggled to make a decision about this product because of some of the misleading reviews, I hope my comments help. One review said that when you fit the golf club attachment to your wii controller it would be the wrong way round, I was worried about this possible problem but it is absolute rubbish and I would ignore this incorrect comment. We did not have any such problem. I do not recall this being mentioned in the product description but as an option you can have the tennis racket attachment rim light up when you are playing (requires two triple a batteries), this was an added bonus and looked good. Overall I would say that these attachments can aid game play slightly but more than that they do add to the fun and realism of playing the games and I would definitely recommend to all wii owners. Note:- I would warn that Argos sell a similar sports utility pack that is much more expensive, i would advise not to purchase this as the quality is poor in comparison to this one from Amazon. Also if you do buy the version from Argos, and you are not happy, you will not get a refund as they have a laughable policy on this kind of product where they will not refund you unless the product is faulty.
Customer Review: Great value for all the family
Bought this thinking its going to be one of those packs that you use once then put on top of the wardrobe but since we got it the kids and I must admit I havent stopped - great ideas and great value…..

X-OOM Movies on Wii (PC)
List Price: ?19.99
Amazon Price: ?17.99
Customer Review: Avoid at all costs!
So the first thing i thought before buying this product was WOW i can finally watch a movie on my beloved Wii. And not only that but i can carry a movie around with me on my 1gb SD card, bring it to a friends house, slot it into his/her Wii and we can watch a movie! Great! WRONG! All this application does is convert a movie/DVD into Motion JPEG format (which is basically a load of compressed still images). For instance i converted my Aliens VS Predator DVD to Wii format on my SD card and it produced 4 different files. I loaded the SD card into my Wii, went to the Photo channel (which is how you have to view the files), and selected the first file. The movie began to play and already the trouble started. I experienced a lot of stuttering and delay much like you would see in a movie played from a very scratched up DVD. It would be smooth for 3 seconds then stop/start, smooth for another 3 seconds then stop/start and on and on and on…. Not only that but because the Wii format of the video is in fact still images and can only be viewed in the photo channel of the Wii means that you have no rewind, fast forward, etc. functionality that everybody needs. Also, you have to select the 2nd file when you are done with the first, and then the third, fourth and so on depending on the size of the movie you are playing. Oh i have also forgot to mention that the video quality is very poor even though i chose the option in the application to convert the movie at the highest quality! So forget about buying this product - it obviously hasn’t been fully tested by X-OOM. Take my advice, save your hard earned money and wait for the official Nintendo DVD drive or firmware updates to the Wii so you can have a real movie experience!

Link’s Crossbow Training (inc. Wii Zapper) (Wii)

Link’s Crossbow Training (inc. Wii Zapper) (Wii)
Customer Review: Feckin Brill
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this game. I’d repeat how much I love it more but you should get the idea. I’m totally kicking my fiance’s ass and he is not happy. I actually think theres a secret assasin in me. Am fighting to get my last 2 platinum medals but its so much fun that I’m enjoying it all the way. And now that I’m almost finished with the “training” I think they should bring out the real deal. I’ll be lining up to get it as soon as it comes out

Customer Review: A Cool invention
I bought this game as it looked like alot of fun. I was not disappointed. The Wii Zapper is a cool invention it works really well with the game included Links Crossbow training. In this game you hit the targets or monsters to earn points. The wii Zapper works well with Resident Evil Umbrella. I give this game plus Wii Zapper 10/10 as this is a really original item.

Officially Licensed Messenger Console Bag (Wii)

Amazon Price: ?24.98
Used Price: ?17.99
Customer Review: This bag is great!
I bought this bag with some trepidation given the number of other reviewers who complained about how small it was. However, we needed a bag because we often move our Wii from one house to another. I decided on this bag because of the “sensor bar pocket” feature, which seemed like an absolute essential. The bag is fine - good even. I don’t know what the other reviewers are talking about. There was no problem whatsoever in getting, Wii, all cables, sensor bar, two controllers and two nunchuks into this bag which is then an enormously convenient size (not too big) to drop easily into the car for transportation. There is also a significant amount of padding etc to protect the Wii and stuff from the possibility of damage in transit. I honestly wonder what the other reviewers were on about. I suspect they had hoped for a bag which would take the games, also, which this one definitely isn’t designed to do. (But then, how could you design a bag to carry wii and a completely indeterminate number of games). If you want to move your Wii around - buy this bag!
Customer Review: Nice lot of padding but a bit cramped
I bought this product because it was endorsed by Nintendo. I bought the Wii for 2 persons and have purchased a few accessories to go with it e.g. golf add on, tennis racket add on and a steering wheel. When I got it home I was impressed at the zipped storage compartment for the senso bar - intelligent and important given its sensitivity. However, I found that as soon as you put the console in the main compartment there is little room for anything else. After some careful planning and 5 minutes of scratching your head, it’s possible to get the console, power cables, AV cables, steering wheel, 2 remotes and 2 nunchucks in the main compartment. I did have to lengthen the straps on the clips to close the bag though. I have taken the games cd’s out of their boxes and placed them in a 10 cd zipped folder which fits nicely in the front compartment. The golf add on and the tennis racket add on have gone into the 2 side elasticated webbing pouches on the exterior of the bag. Not a good idea for travelling as they tend to catch on things and it’s not water proof. As previously mentioned on another review, the shoulder strap doesnt have any padding so it can become very uncomfortable when travelling due to the weight you’re carrying. I would recommend this product for home storage, and for no more than 2 persons or 1 person with accessories.

Remote Gun Holder (Wii)
List Price: ?9.99
Amazon Price: ?9.98
Customer Review: Does the job, and is very fun
Though this is not the official wii zapper, it’s as close as you’ll get without infringing copyright. You can feel why it’s half the price as the trigger feels too thin, and there’s lumps and bump here and there. But seeing as you can’t get a wii zapper without link training, this is what to get. Though I only have one game that works with it (Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles) I enjoy using it allot. It is slightly harder for some reason, maybe just because i’m not used to it. Basically it does the job, is quite comfortable, and very fun. It only got 4 overall as the trigger is uncomfortable.
Customer Review: Very disappointing
I prefer the design/look of this versus the official zapper but the problem is that with the Wii remote fully inserted, the trigger simply doesn’t work. You have to open the retaining clip and lift the remote out of the gun slightly to get it to work properly. I’m guessing they don’t all have this issue as other reviewers seem to be happy with theirs. Maybe I was just unlucky! I’ll be returning this to Amazon immediately.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Wii)

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Wii)

It’s the game that never should’ve worked. Normal licensed games are usually bad enough but the game of the toy of the film? Clearly the Force was with developer Traveller’s Tales though because Lego Star Wars I and II were huge critical and commercial hits that showed that not only could licensed games be good but that titles aimed at kids and the family could be just as innovative and entertaining as any other. Clearly not wishing for any of the new consoles to miss out on the fun this is a compendium of both games with a bunch of new extras thrown in on top.

Together the two games cover both the prequel and original trilogy, with each film given six separate levels of its own, one of which is vehicle based. The rest of the levels though are deceptively simple action adventures with a built-in co-operative mode that anyone can join in and leave whenever they want. The combat is simple enough that anyone can play and you never really die, leaving the most complex part of the gameplay the always cleverly designed puzzles.

For this special version of the games extra levels have been added in (including the Zam Wessell chase from Attack of the Clones) as well as new bonus missions, ten new bounty hunter missions and the ability to play any of the characters in any of the levels. Add in a new online co-op mode for the PS3 and 360 and this really is the complete saga.

Harrison Dent

Customer Review: Great for the kids
My 6 and 8 year old boys love this game. The fact that you can’t ‘die’ is great for them as they get frustrated when they are doing really well and then lose all of their lives. The way the characters build bridges and control panels out of the blocks is great. This is definitely not a game for the older Star Wars fans but for the younger generation it’s fantastic. We can’t wait for the Indiana Jones lego game this summer.

Customer Review: Fun for anyone from 3-103
This is a fun little game for the Wii which sadly doesn’t make much use of the interactive Wiimote function, a downside for those Jedi wannabes.

All the characters and locations are so familiar to Star Wars fans yet entirely made out of Lego.

The levels aren’t all that complex although some thought is needed for the Free Play area, as certain area are only available to certain characters and each character has it’s own area of expertise.

However as it’s not possible to die in the game it is excellent for Children and those who are unfamiliar with computer games.

Combining the best of Lego and Star Wars, what’s not to like?

6 in 1 Sports Accessory Pack (Wii)
List Price: ?12.99
Amazon Price: ?9.99
Customer Review: Fantastic!
I have to disagree with most of the other reviews on this product. I have not yet encounted any problems with parts flying off! I received this product for Christmas (along with my wii) and have been very pleased with it. It makes ‘game play’ a lot more interesting and realistic. The only bad points I have are: 1. you have to remove the attachment to select what you want to play and then attach it again when you want to play (this has not yet been a major problem for me) 2. I don’t really need the extra strap and crystal case but it’s good to have them anyway as spares! To conclude, this is a product worth buying and will add a lot more fun to your wii!
Customer Review: Doesn’t fit with new Wii remote strap
We purchased new Wii for Christmas and this pack for extra fun, don’t bother. The new Wii remote safety Strap (Lanyard) has a larger plastic slider, which will not fit through the hole on this accessory, so if want to use these items have to remove the remote safety strap and use the safety strap provided with these accessories, which is not as sturdy has the official Nintendo strap. Also we tried to use the tennis racket and found it hard to select the different options on screen, as the tennis racket was blocking the signals. Looking to return to Amazon for a refund. Hope this saves you wasting your money on this product

it is a good game but alot needs to be improved for instants the controls are very bad and no fatal 4 ways or steel cage or ladder or any good matches accept harcore and triple threats but it is very fun also when you are used to it i got it very cheap only ?19.99 in game but i expected better.
Customer Review: Cackdown 2008
Remembering the joy I had playing the PS2 version while staying at a friend’s house I snapped this up thinking that it would be exactly the same but with some cool motion sensor action to boot. How wrong can one person be? It must have at least 60% of the (24.99) PS2 version hacked out of it, no main events, crap season mode, and worst of all a god awful control system! most of the game play is basically automatic and just involves swinging the Wiimote in any direction with no real control over the wrestler, most of the wrestlers have the same moves apart from their finishers, it’s like going back to the days of Royal Rumble on the SNES! This game could have been great but THQ have seemed to go for the “casual gamer” multi play game effect. I’m not sure why as the Wii already has that market sewn up with the “family games”. If you’ve played the other versions you can’t help feeling like you’ve been ripped off, especially when the Wii version is about ten quid more than the PS2 version! I just hope that THQ realise what they hae done and release a new Day of Reckoning game to make up for it. I’ve since taken “Cackdown 2008″ back and exchanged it for Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles. If you’re a die hard wrestling fan and have played the previous versions of Smackdown then avoid this like the plague!

Nintendo Wii Console (Includes Wii Sports)

Nintendo Wii Console (Includes Wii Sports)
Nintendo’s Wii video game system (pronounced “we”) is designed to attract people, regardless of their age or video game experience, to sit down and play together–whether they’re in the same room or on different sides of the globe. The system’s name reflects this simple idea. It’s easily pronounced in a variety of languages, and the distinctive spelling suggests two players side by side. The two Wii features Nintendo thinks will create new levels of gaming community are built-in Wi-Fi access, supported by a new online gaming service, and Wii’s intuitive, wireless, motion-sensitive game controller.

Customer Review: wii
this console is great fun,,but it does’nt take long before it sit’s there collecting dust.novety wears off very quicky..a great console for kids but for adults forget it..buy a ps3.

Customer Review: Wii - Excelent Games Console
The Wii is undoubtedly unique in the home console market. while motion sensitive controllers have been implemented on other consoles, none of them have gone about it in quite the same way. the wii remote acts as a pointer, can tell how far it is from the screen, and has motion sensing capabilities. all of these features work well in the varying situations that the games present.

To those who claim that the controllers don’t work, well I’ve seen people struggle to use them and blame the controllers when it’s been plainly obvious that what they’re doing with it is no where near what they are supposed to be doing with it or what they think they are doing with it. Some (most) persevere and figure out how to get it right, others blame the tools. This is part of the magic of the console, it brings a new dimension to getting the game right, it’s no longer just a matter of timing. if you prefer button bashing and analogue sticks then that’s fine, but the wii is not difficult to master, it’s fun to master.

The console it’s self is not as powerful as it rivals, but there’s no rule to say that a powerful console is better all the time. the wii has quick load times and the quality of graphics that nintendo has always churned out. if all you want from a game is photo realism then the wii isn’t for you, but please try to remember that this is a piece of hardware bought solely to play GAMES on. the only point of playing a game is to have fun.

there could be more games for it, but the ones that have been made specifically for it benefit greatly from the controller. they work really really well and are great fun.

to sum up, i would be inclined to think that the people who feel the controllers are poor probably didn’t get it right the first time they picked it up and gave up with them (we’re all guilty of doing that at some point in our lives). Those who say it’s boring after a day have more of an issue with the games they have for it, but bear in mind wii sports is a free starter game, it’s not meant to be an in depth saga, i’ve racked up 45 hours on LOZ. Those who are offended by the consoles power are frankly misguided in the decision making process, the consoles control system is next gen, not it’s processor, and who cares if it wasn’t anyway? I’d still play on my commodore 64 if it worked because it’s fun.

Customer Review: Not Resi 4 But Bloody Good Fun!
Okay so this games been dragged through the mud by websites and magazines alike. But at the end of the day what did you expect. Okay so the game plays like this Chickens fly across the screen and you shoot at them by means of the Wiimote! Thats it! Yeah its simple and no its not on a par with resi 4 or the upcoming metroid game. However its great fun!! Its a pick up and play blast away type game. 2GB SECURE DIGITAL (GAMING)
The SanDisk SD Gaming Memory Card line is the must have card for the Nintendo? Wii? game console. For maximum performance and to get the most out of all the advanced features on the Wii?, you?ll need a SanDisk Gaming Card. With SanDisk, you will be able to download and store games, store game saves, and edit and store photos.

Customer Review: Much better value than it used to be
These Wii labeled SD cards used to be very overpriced as some of the reviews indicate. However at less than ?4 they are now reasonable value either for use with the Wii, or any other device which uses SD cards. It is worth noting that as has been said this is just a normal SD card (of good make) and does not offer any actual benefit for Wii use over a none Wii labeled good quality SD card.

Customer Review: “Official” Wii SD card? Aye Right!
Why Why Why Why Why spend double the money for an “official” (in other words “white”) version of a standard SD card. There is no difference in the specs. Its simple, dont bother.

the SD card is inserted into the Wii anyway so nobody sees or cares what colour it is!!!

Nintendo Wii Nunchuk Controller add-on (Wii)
Connect the Nunchuk controller to the Wii Remote and get ready. The Nunchuk controller and the accelerometer contained within it are the next leap in gaming. In first-person shooters, the controller carries the burden of movement, freeing you to aim and fire using a more natural motion with the Wii Remote. In a football game, you can make your quarterback elusive with the Nunchuk controller while you look for an open receiver to throw to using the Wii Remote.
Customer Review: needed for some games. Some notes about nunchuks
A nunckuk is a simple atachment to the Wii remote that gives you extra control over a game.So far 4 out of 6 of my games need it.If it has a nunchuk icon in the top-right corner of the box it needs it for all or part of the game. You get one free with the console, but you can get another for multiplayer. Here are some notes: 1.The control stick has a special feature:you can move it a little bit and it does the action a little bit, like a steering wheel! 2.The upper button is called “c” and the lower button is called “z” so if you see c and z mentioned in reviews you`ll know what they`re talking about. Don`t get them the wrong way round! 3.It fits in your hand perfectly-no need to worry about it being uncomfortable. 4.Don`t put the control stick in your mouth (if you do it goes all yellow). 5.The cord length is fine(almost the armspan of a quite tall 9-year-old). So overall the nunchuk wins 5 stars for its special control stick feature; fitting into your hand nicely; and its cord length, and only has 1 bad point which is being just plain white and even this is hardly a “bad” point because you never look at the nunchuk when you`re playing and even this can be fixed by buying a skincase for it.
Customer Review: Over priced and under whelming - a missed opportunity
The nun-chuck does the job you want it for: controlling Wii games that need it like Wii Sports Boxing, FPS games like Metroid, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor etc, and a few others. You know this because you got one bundled with your Wii and you only want to buy another one so you can play these games against a friend. So go ahead and buy one. But never being one to miss the opportunity to have a moan I thought I’d climb on my soap box and point out it’s faults. Go on, read my rant before you click the `unhelpful button’. The nun-chuck is over priced at ?15. Infact Wii owners shouldn’t have to pay for it at all. The Wii Remote is half a controller without this. It’s a rip that you have to pay out ?45 for 2 bits of kit just to get an extra player. This gives Wii the most expensive console controllers ever, which is just silly. Price aside, the nun-chuck ain’t that great. It feels to light for one thing, and what’s with the wire and the lack of rumbles? A wireless rumbling Wii nun-chuck might be worth ?15, but not this bland piece of plastic. The nun-chuck is a reliable controller but it could be a lot better, and cheaper. Do buy one, but don’t forget to do so begrudgingly ;-) Oh and parents, make sure your kid actually wants to play games that require an extra nun-chuck before you buy. If all they want is multi player Tennis this won’t be necessary.

Dual Charging Fan Stand & Battery Packs (Wii)
List Price: ?19.99
Amazon Price: ?16.99
Customer Review: Great but ot quite brilliant.
Techinically speaking the stand is brilliant, and for the money you’re paying for it, you couldn’t really ask for more. The nunchuck holders were a brilliant idea as well as the LED lights to show how much the remotes had charged up. These turned from red to orange to green once the remotes were fully charged. I also liked the blue LED stripe around the stand, but this is where the stand becomes a slight let down. There’s only one switch at the back of the unit to control everything. So, you decide that you want to turn on this blue LED band… well, the only way to do that is by turning on the fan first and then fullying flipping the switch to enable the LED to light up. This wouldn’t be so much of a problem but the fan is really quite noisy and unless you turn the sound up on you TV really quite loud, you’ll have a constant whirring sound drowning out your game audio. Other than that, this stand was a pretty good buy. Hope this review helps.
Customer Review: A practical all in one station for the wii at last
Ive had this station for a couple of months now and find it superb for storing your wii motes and nunchucks,it also charges your wii motes and has a cooling fan.The reason I give it four stars only is: - It comes with 2 pairs of rechargeble batteries enclosed in a white shell, where the batteries cannot be replaced. - even though it is a practical solution for the Wii,Im not too impressed with the design, but this is my opinion. -The manufactures should have given the option to switch the blue light on or off as it continously stays on. -You will need to buy a pair of penlight batteries for the cooling fan. On the positive side this station will keep your Wii area tidy and charged no doubt.A tip for storing your nunchucks is to rap the nunchuck cord round your finger and then insert the cord curled up in the nunchuck slot first with the usb connection sticking out through the slot provided and the nunchuck will sit in position easily.

Wii Sensor Bar Extension Cable (instead of wireless)

Wii Sensor Bar Extension Cable (instead of wireless)
For people with projectors or large rooms, the standard Wii sensor bar cable may not be long enough. This Wii Sensor Bar Extension Cable adds six feet to the original sensor bar to enable you to position it wherever you want - subtly hide the cable underneath carpeting and the retain the sharp responsiveness of the original sensor bar!
A very useful product for all the people who struggle to install the Wii sensor bar properly depending on their Video equipment integration. Solves the problem by giving you a wide margin to put it where you want with this extension cable for the Wii sensor.

To use, simply connect one end to the original Wii sensor bar cable and the other to the Wii console.

Customer Review: Better than mucking about with batteries.
I’ve got the wii running through a projector so it’s pretty far from the screen and the standard sensor bar cable isn’t really long enough. This cable lets me mount the sensor bar on the ceiling at the top of the screen, well out of the way of little mucky hands, and there’s no worry about putting new batteries in it (which is what you’d have to do with a wireless sensor bar).

So yeah, it’s cool.

FIFA 08 (Wii)

FIFA 08 (Wii)

The greatest battle of the new football season is not between any real world club but between the virtual giants of FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer. Konami’s game has always been the favourite but last year FIFA closed the gap to such a degree that the title race has never been closer. This year’s FIFA uses a completely new game engine, for the first time built specifically for the next gen consoles. But improved graphics and animation are only the half of it, with just as much focus going on the artificial intelligence thanks to the new “35 point decision engine”. What this basically means is that every player on the pitch is fully aware of those around him and constantly thinking about tactics and position when not under your control.

Other changes include better modelled physics for taking a shot on goal, which take into account everything from air pressure to the angle of your foot. You’re also able to create your own special moves to replicate every possible trick from real life. There are also new game modes including Be A Pro which challenges you to play the role of a single player through a whole season or career. On top of this there are revamped online leagues to play a virtual season in the Premier League, Bundesliga, French League or Mexican 1st Division against real opponents. With 620 licensed teams, 30 offline leagues and 15,000 players as well FIFA might just have made enough new signings this year to put it over the top.

Customer Review: The funnest FIFA yet! Simply Wii-Tastic
This has to be one of my biggest surprises since owning a Wii (for about a year now). Originally after reading the negative reviews, I wasn’t inclined to buy the game. But to be honest, i’m not a hardcore gamer - I literally play for a little bit in my spare time, so after looking in the Game store the other day, I decided to at least try it out. Probably the best decision i’ve made in a long while!

I’ve been playing FIFA for over 8 years now across many formats, but have found this edition to be the best yet. Why? Quite simply because it’s been made to give the gamer(s) in question some fun and excitement. This has rarely been a route for EA, as we’ve seen in the past few years their attempts to copy the Pro Evo series by targeting the games for hardcore footie fans. This year however, they had the perfect opportunity to use the Wii!

From its opening menu, you already get a glimpse this game is ‘not’ to be taken too seriously. It’s something that should be enjoyed - not to get frustrated and throw your pad around. To enforce this concept, a Wii-only feature for this game is ‘Footii Party’ - a nice section of the game were you have 3 different games; Table Football, Juggle It, and Boot It. All of these are fun games. Boot it requires you to beat the opposition player (a friend, for instance) in goal from the penalty spot by hitting targets. The more targets you get, the more points, etc etc. Juggle It, I hope, explains itself, while the Table Football is a nice idea, but is maybe just to restricting for the Wii remote. All in all, this section of the game that springs at you when you first play this is a fun, bright, and great way to have fun with friends and definitely family!

Then their is the online feature. For those who don’t have their Wii connected to the internet, you may want to skip ahead, but for those who day, I can say it’s a fantastic mode that allows you to play games with other people across the world for free. It’s fast, smooth, no lag times, and is quite a buzz when playing, because you realise that someone out their is playing against you! In nice Nintendo fashion, the other player remains onoymous, and thankfully, unlike the Xbox 360, you don’t have to use a headset to receive abuse from other people in America (happens all the time - lots of complaints). This is feel is a great move - you just get on with the game, and its safe for anyone! All you need to do is set up a username and password on the menu, then your away.

But of course, I haven’t even mentioned what the gameplay is like during a match! As you have probably heard by now from other reviews, this games unfortunately doesn’t have a full ’season manager’ mode, but you can still play a season, though it’s a little more basic obviously. Again, referring back to how this ties in with the Wii, this is probably a descent move. This isn’t a hardcore football game - it’s something to pick up and play.

As soon as the match starts, you’re greeted with fast frame-rate animation of the players coming onto the pitch, the camera moving around etc, which for a few years now is a first - usually, the the frame-rate tends to get slow, but this game looks as though it’s just been recorded of a camcorder, so smooth. Unfortunately, I did find the physics of the game (when running/turning) a tad stiff/slow at times during the internet play, but slightly less during a standard CPU game. For the average user, it’s obviously not a big deal, but it’s just strange as previous version have always been very smooth, particularly the Gamecube versions. However, the rest of the graphics are extremerly impressive - whichever reviewers say that the graphics are “rubbish” or “not good enough” obviously need glasses, for the detail on the kits is extraordinary compared to the previous generations of consoles. People forget the graphics chip in the Wii is 3 times more powerful than that of the Gamecube, as we can see in games like Resident Evil 4.

Their are also nice sub-animations during the game, such as a player thinking its his throw in, and refuses to give the ball to the opposition. Or a funny one is if you take a corner, and bring your keeper up, you see him ‘leg it’ the full length, with a camera-shot of him!

Commentary wise, it’s also a definite improvement of past editions. Again, i’m not too bothered anymore how accurate it is, but I can say that it’s no longer annoying. And thankfully, John Motson has retired, and given way to Clive Tydesly… ly (how do you spell that damn name?? “It’s nice passing from (team X), which is important in these kinds of games” and my favourite “And now the keepers coming up! The dieing few seconds of the game, can he make a difference?”

And the controls? To be honest, their isn’t alot to say. Too many people have been making a big deal out of it, but when you get used to it, it’s second nature, and far better than twiddling thumbs and fingers. What also helps though is the fluency and movement of the players - I felt past editions have been very rigid, but this fast flowing version is perfect for waving your Wii Remote around!

The music, for a change, is also fantastic. I used to hate the horrible sounds of annoying foreign vocals and instruments, but this disc is packed with indie bands, and great British songs from last year! What a relief…

So overall, FIFA 2008 is probably quite a decieving game. For those, like me, who don’t game very much, FIFa 08 is perfect for just switching on, then playing a match seconds later. If you’re a hardcore gamer, then this is obviously not the game for you - I won’t even try to deny that. But if you keep an open mind and realise this is what the Wii is all about - making gaming not just fun, but available to everyone, you’ll realise this is a very clever, quirky, and enjoyable game!

Just one negative - it’s particular over-priced! I’ll imagine the RRP will drop in some time, so just wait a little longer!

Customer Review: fiifa 2008 let down on wii
I felt compelled to express my views on this game, firstly i must say the controls seem to work fine and i havent encountered usuing the wii remote and nunchuck but i have to say that graphically the game is no better than a gamecube and very annoying you are unable to have a league or tournament featuring international teams. Other versions on xbox you seem able to do this and have other features its a disgrace the wii has been shortchanged in this way, out of the mini games included the fussball is very good

Nintendo Wii Wrist Strap - White - For Nintendo Wii
Brand New White Wii Wrist Strap

Wii Play (includes Wiimote controller) (Wii)
In a nutshell:
If you want as gentle an introduction as possible to the world of Wii then this user-friendly compilation of mini-games is just the thing for you, with a collection of games that are as easy to play as they are fun.

The lowdown:
It might be easy to use but the Wii is still a pretty unusual beast and a bit of a culture shock from the overly complex controllers of other consoles. This compilation of mini-games aims to ease you in gently with simple to play games that only need the Wii Remote to enjoy. These include games of table tennis, air hockey (or Laser Hockey as the game would have it) and an updated of NES classic Duck Hunt. There’s also Wii Billiards, a fishing sim and a number of games which use your customised Mii Channel character, including Wii Pose and the Where’s Wally style Find Mii. Since many of these games have a multiplayer mode the game also comes bundled with an extra Remote (but not a nunchuck), which usually sells for ?29.99 separately.

Most exciting moment:
Although all of the games are fun the best one is probably the Duck Hunt update (which also has you shooting UFOs and other non-avian enemies). Perhaps what’s most exciting about it is that it proves how good other light gun franchises, such as Virtua Cop and Time Crisis would be on the Wii.

Since you ask:
Many of the mini-games included with Wii Play, such as Duck Hunt and Table Tennis, were first seen as technical demos at the E3 trade conference in May 2006, when the Wii was first revealed in playable form.

The bottom line:
The beginner’s guide to Wii, with a handy extra controller. - HARRISON DENT
Used Price: ?57.99
Customer Review: A Good Game
This is a jolly good game that is a splendid introduction to the Wiimote controller, I intitially bought it for the free controller, but upon playing soon discovered it was a real hoot!
Customer Review: A simple yet addictive compilation of games
Wii Play is a great little compilation of games that comes bundled with a free remote - or the other way around, depending how you want to look at it. Admittedly, this isn’t the sort of game you’ll play alone, but like Wii Sports it’s fantastic to play in a small group and demonstrates yet again that the Wii is the best console for outright fun. While there are a total of nine games here, my personal favourites are: Laser Hockey, which is sort of like air hockey but with a funky neon-lit table; Find Mii, in which you have to pick out different Mii avatars in numerous ways (this gets more challenging the further you go); Pose Mii, which is a simple yet challenging game where you have to quickly align Miis up in the correct pose and posture before they hit the water; Shooting Range, which is basically Duck Hunt but with all new graphics and tighter gameplay, and finally Charge, which is a great little racing game where you have to ride a cow around a field and collect the scarecrows for points. There are more games on here that offer up plenty of fun, but the above are the ones I find to be the best. Graphics are similar to Wii Sports in that they go for the unrealistic, semi-cartoon style Nintendo does so very well, and the sound is typically humorous and charming in equal measure. In all, Wii Play is barrels of fun and laughs, but as previously stated, it’s only a game you will ever use when in groups large or small. But considering you get this and the Wii Remote for the price of a regular game should be incentive enough for you to buy it. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii)

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii)

In a nutshell:
The Metroid Prime trilogy comes to an end on the Wii, using not just the console’s improved graphical abilities but also the full range of the controller’s features. Half first person shooter, half Zelda style Sci-Fi adventure this is destined to be one of the best games of the next generation.

The lowdown:
The Wii remote and nunchuck have what seems like an infinite range of functions but of all the games shown so far this is the only one that seems to use every single one. Although there is still a lock-on option for attacking enemies you can now play the game more like a first person shoot ?€˜em-up as you target enemies instantly, just by pointing with the Wii remote. All of the buttons, including the D-pad, are used to access Samus’s various abilities, which are added to with new uses for the grappling hook. This now works like a whip, allowing you to nab enemy shields by simply flicking the nunchuck (which also has a motion sensor in it) forward.

Most exciting moment:
The best bit of the lengthy E3 demo is an amazing boss fight with regular series villain Ridley, as you both fall through a giant energy shaft. Not only do you have to dodge his attacks but you have to beat him before you both end up splatted at the bottom of the shaft.

Since you ask:
The game’s graphics are noticeably improved from the GameCube titles, with much more detailed enemies and much larger game areas. There’s also a lot more enemies onscreen at once, as well as apparently friendly fellow bounty hunters.

The bottom line:
The legendary series evolves again, with the best use of the Wii’s controller yet.

Winter Sports (Wii)
Price: ?39.99
Customer Review: WINTER SPORTS 2008 WII EDITION
Winter sports is the best sports game on the wii bar none. it is a hidden gem that most people dont know about, infact i only discovered it by accident. forget the other reveiwer that says the graphics are average cause there not, they are really good espesially when you run it on a hd telly like i have done + everything is authenticly done just like your watching it on the tv. If you liked mario & sonic at the olympics then you will love this it takes it to the next level in multi player, they apparently sold out all there first batch of stock so all i can say is buy this game now before it sells out again.
Customer Review: Good, but not great
This game is quite good and the controls work quite well. The graphics are just average though, overall the game is fun and the controls are easy to get used to, not one of the best games on the Wii, but it isn’t too bad.

Charging Stand & 2 Rechargeable Batteries For Nintendo Wii With FREE MAINS ADAPTER
This item is a great must have item if you have a Nintendo Wii. This will eliminate the need for buying endless batteries for your Nintendo Wii remote and therefore save you money. Simply remove the battery cover from the back of your Wii remote and place one of the supplied 2800mAh batteries in its place. Charge the remote on the stand as shown above and after two hours you will have a fully charged Wii remote which will provide you with up to 16 hours of playing time. The best thing about this item is that it will charge two remotes at the same time (you can play with one while the other is charging) and also it provides a convenient resting place for your remote. Usually stands of this type need to plugged into your Wii and your Wii has to be switched on for the charging to take place. So for a limited time only we are also providing a FREE mains charger which will independently power the stand from any mains socket for your convenience.

Link’s Crossbow Training (inc. Wii Zapper) (Wii)

Customer Review: Good simple fun!
Picked this up yesterday and have had such a laugh with the game and the zapper. Wanted it to play Resident Evil, but found the crossbow game was not bad. No idea why anyone would pay these prices for it when Tesco’s have it for ?17.71. Makes the Wii that little bit more fun and offers you a little sillyness. Can’t wait to try playing more games with the zapper. The zapper itself is very simple and easy to use. Feels well made and offers a nice way to store your controllers when not in use.
Customer Review: good but not perfect
Construction It’s definitely cool looking and pretty durable, but there are a couple of flaws that I’m sure will be corrected in future versions of this zapper. When holding the zapper, it is a bit awkward to shoot with your forward hand and steer your guy with your back hand. It is cleverly constructed to hide your wire from the wii-mote to the nunchuck. When it is fully put together, it balances well and feels pretty solid. We did however notice that when reloading your gun in Medal of Honor (by quickly jerking your gun upward) there were a few times when the wii-mote came loose from it’s housing. This is frustrating because if the wii-mote slips out, the zapper mechanism won’t hit the trigger (b-button) on the wii-mote. This is extremely frustrating in a battle situation if you’re reloading with someone coming at you. You’ll be toast. About a third of the people who play it at our house have had this issue, but if you’re reasonably gentle, you should get the hang of it. I am going to assume that in the future, Nintendo is either going to make their own, or outsource a Wii Zapper where the trigger is in your back hand and you steer with your front hand. It will be much more intuitive. In fact, as the wii expands, you’ll probably see a lot of sweet designs. The zapper is constructed as it is in order to give you a low cost to having this ability now. Function in games Once you adjust your sensitivity and height, you will be much more comfortable. When I first tried it, without any tweaking, it was much too touchy. I don’t know how it affects things, but on a large TV, it was just too fast and twitchy until we adjusted things. One flaw that we noticed is that if you move your cursor too far to one side, it will come back on the other side of the screen. For instance, if your cursor is near the right side of the screen and you move further right, even though your zapper is still pointed to the right, your cursor will reappear on the left side. You have to do the reverse process to get it back in line. This of course is frustrating in a game. It is probably like this because I have a 56 inch tv and we were standing pretty close. On a smaller tv, it may not have this same effect. With all of that said though. The Wii Zapper is headed in the right direction. Once a couple of killer games come out and some tweaks are done, you’ll see Sony and Xbox copying the idea, and playing Halo, or Call of Duty with a standard remote will be a thing of the past. Once you start marching through Medal of Honor or even the training game, you realize that this is how you’ve always wanted to play first person shooters. I’m guessing that the race is now on. If the Wii can get Call of Duty 4 or some game like it to incorporate the Wii-Zapper, you won’t want to play Halo 3 again until
