UK spent £1.9bn on games in 2008 (PC Advisor)
More than 82 million games were sold The industry body says the sales, which totaled £1.9bn, were 23 percent higher than the previous year. Of these sales, 20 million were games for the Nintendo Wii, which was a 112 percent rise on the figures for 2007. Meanwhile a further 19.1 million sales were of games for Nintendo's handheld console, the DS.
